Compliance Lead: Safeguarding Children in Residential Care

Residential child care homes require meticulous compliance monitoring to ensure the well-being and safety of their residents. As a Compliance Lead, you will play a pivotal role in this endeavour.

Audits are conducted on a daily and weekly basis to guarantee accurate records and adherence to safeguarding practices. These audits focus on crucial aspects such as child locations, staff records, and operational compliance. Effective communication with Registered Managers and senior management teams ensures that regulatory standards are met and accurately reported.

The key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Conducting regular checks on child location records to verify accuracy and adherence to safeguarding protocols
  • Evaluating quality reports for alignment with regulatory requirements and company standards
  • Verifying and examining documentation, maintaining utility certificates, and ensuring precision in company systems
  • Maintaining centralized audit trackers and ensuring timely updates
  • Identifying potential gaps, trends, or non-compliance issues and escalating them when necessary

In addition to these responsibilities, strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively are essential. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities are also necessary for reporting, team coordination, and liaison with regulatory bodies. An analytical mindset and attention to detail are required for reviewing reports and documents.

Responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing and evaluating audit findings to identify areas for improvement
  • Developing and implementing strategies to address identified gaps and trends
  • Maintaining open communication channels with colleagues and stakeholders
