Risk Management and Control Officer

We are seeking a seasoned Risk Management and Control Officer to join our team. As a key member of our Global Non-Operations Control Team, you will play a crucial role in strengthening our control environment, promoting self-identification of issues, and ensuring control effectiveness and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead complex initiatives designed to mitigate current and emerging risks with broad impact.
- Act as a key participant in monitoring, evaluating, and measuring the impact of decisions practiced in Control Management functional area.
- Monitor moderately complex business-specific programs and provide risk management consulting to support the business in designing and implementing risk-mitigation strategies.
- Monitor, measure, evaluate, and report on the impact of decisions and controls to the relevant business group or functional area.
- Perform issue management activities across the Issues Management lifecycle to issues and corrective actions, including root cause identification, issue intake, development of corrective actions, and identification of controls and in-region impact, as well as any related intake and closure requirements.
- Collaborate globally with Control teams, Independent Risk Management, and Audit to ensure effective responses are provided and potential risks and concerns are addressed.
- Partner with the business to identify, assess, manage, and mitigate current and emerging risk exposures within Control Management functional area.
- Collaborate with relevant business groups to identify current and emerging risks associated with business activities and operations, and provide guidance in developing and implementing risk-mitigating strategies.
- Lead Control Management projects across virtual teams.
- 5+ years of Risk Management or Control Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education.
- Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills to effectively influence all organizational and leadership levels, with flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability.
- Highly organized and proactive with demonstrated ability to assess, exercise independent judgment, apply prudent risk management principles, prioritize work to meet deadlines, and proactively escalate when necessary.
- Ability to be flexible and adjust plans quickly to adapt to changing business needs, with a hands-on style, proven ability to structure tasks or projects, execute, and achieve targeted results, and develop and manage associated goals and plans.
- Intellectual curiosity with proven ability to learn quickly through others as well as to conduct their own research and analysis.
- Ethical integrity and demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and apply prudent risk mitigation principles.
- Prior experience as a Business Control Management (BCM) professional.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment while prioritizing critical path.
- Experience assessing control design and performance through testing, audit, or Risk Control Self-Assessment practices.
- Experience assessing processes, procedures, and identifying controls.
- Comprehensive understanding of operational risk management in the financial services or other highly regulated industries.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal communication skills, and stakeholder management.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and readiness to work in a challenging and dynamic environment.
- Flexibility to multitask and work across domains and business groups.
- Ability to credibly challenge, conduct tough conversations, and effectively communicate with various levels of management.
- Ability to synthesize data from a variety of sources and deliver results quickly.
