About this role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Management Officer - Control Management Specialist to join our team at Wells Fargo Bank. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a team-first mindset, and excellent communication skills to drive results in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead complex initiatives to mitigate current and emerging risks with broad impact
  • Monitor, evaluate, and measure the impact of decisions practiced in Control Management functional area
  • Provide risk management consulting to support the business in designing and implementing risk-mitigation strategies
  • Monitor, measure, evaluate, and report on the impact of decisions and controls to the relevant business group or functional area
  • Perform issue management activities across the Issues Management lifecycle to issues and corrective actions
  • Collaborate globally with Control teams, independent risk management, and audit to ensure effective responses are provided and potential risks and concerns are addressed
  • Partner with the business to identify, assess, manage, and mitigate current and emerging risk exposures within Control Management functional area
  • Collaborate with relevant business groups to identify current and emerging risks associated with business activities and operations, and provide guidance in developing and implementing risk-mitigating strategies
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of Risk Management or Control Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills to effectively influence all organizational and leadership levels
  • Highly organized and proactive with demonstrated ability to assess, exercise independent judgment, apply prudent risk management principles, prioritize work to meet deadlines, and proactively escalate when necessary
  • Ability to be flexible and adjust plans quickly to adapt to changing business needs
  • Intellectual curiosity with proven ability to learn quickly through others as well as to conduct their own research and analysis
  • Ethical integrity and demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and apply prudent risk mitigation principles
