Hostel Manager

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the hostel, ensuring a safe and comfortable living environment for students. This role requires strong leadership skills, effective communication, and the ability to work independently.

About the Role:

  • Maintain order and discipline among hostel residents.
  • Address student grievances and provide counseling when necessary.
  • Supervise support staff including ward boys, housekeeping, and security personnel.
  • Liaise with university administration on hostel-related matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Hostel Administration:
  • Manage day-to-day hostel operations, including accommodation, maintenance, and catering.
  • Allot hostel rooms and maintain updated records of occupancy.
  • Monitor infrastructure and report maintenance issues promptly.
  • Ensure hygienic conditions and proper functioning of facilities.
Student Welfare & Discipline:
  • Maintain a healthy, secure, and student-friendly environment.
  • Enforce hostel rules and regulations.
  • Organize hostel activities, orientation, and community-building events.
Safety & Security:
  • Implement safety measures in the hostel premises.
  • Maintain visitor records and restrict unauthorized entry.
  • Take prompt action during emergencies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Management, Social Sciences, Education, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Hostel Warden / Administrator (experience in an educational institution preferred).
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to handle emergencies calmly and responsibly.
