Key Responsibilities

  • Verify and confirm open purchase orders for deliveries.
  • Track sales impact by site based on shortages and past due amounts.
  • Identify risks associated with inventory levels versus requirements at each site.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to identify potential substitutes for materials that are in short supply.
  • Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring timely acknowledgments and follow-ups with suppliers.
  • Manage open purchase orders through delivery confirmations, updating enterprise resource planning systems, and overseeing orders until delivery.
  • Maintain service level agreements as defined.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, meeting quality management system requirements.
  • Resolve 'on hold' invoices in a timely manner for various sites, working closely with stakeholders, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Communicate effectively with site buyers, SCM managers, suppliers, and other stakeholders, addressing concerns and providing timely resolutions.
  • Utilize knowledge of enterprise resource planning systems, preferably Mapics or Vista.
  • Negotiation skills are an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of cost analysis, return on investment, and planning parameter analysis is beneficial.
  • Experience with part rationalization and standardization is desired.
  • A strong understanding of the end-to-end procure-to-pay cycle, product costing, and manufacturing processes is essential.
  • Ability to analyze opportunities, initiate projects, and execute them to achieve cost savings and productivity targets.

Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in engineering or equivalent, or postgraduate degree in any stream.
  • 8-10 years of experience.

  • Good understanding and working knowledge of ERP systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Effective communication, decision-making, and result-driven skills.
