Job Description:

The Supplier Business Manager plays a pivotal role in defining metrics and monitoring supplier performance. This position involves evaluating the quality of supplied materials, setting performance benchmarks, and identifying risks associated with preferred suppliers.

This includes working continuously on process improvement to deploy best-known methods related to procurement, inventory control, and manufacturing strategies. The individual will also encourage early supplier involvement in designing new product parts to optimize quality and manufacturability.

Key responsibilities include establishing goals with suppliers to ensure material delivery meets forecasted demand, acting as an escalation point to resolve shortages, and representing supplier business management on cross-functional commodity teams.

Additionally, this role involves developing presentations, white papers, and process flow charts to support continuous process improvement projects.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial engineering
  • At least 3 years of Supply Chain Management experience managing global suppliers on direct and indirect materials and services
  • Strong knowledge of Purchasing agreements and contracting
  • Experience in development, management, and improvement of supplier performance metrics such as OTD, Consignment, and Leadtime
  • Creative thinking and strong problem-solving capabilities, along with solid analytical skills and interpersonal skills
  • Good understanding of materials and manufacturing processes
  • Solid written and oral communication skills in English, with the ability to communicate effectively across various levels of the organization
  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with ERP systems (SAP experience is an advantage)
