Project Manager Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead our IT project management office. This is a critical role that requires strong leadership and project management skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the IT project portfolio, enforcing project management frameworks, and ensuring successful execution of all IT projects.

  • Accountable for IT Portfolio processes including planning, governance, methodology framework, and resource capacity management.
  • Ensure project management standards and practices are implemented across the IT project portfolio.
  • Supervise and mentor the project management team through performance reviews, career growth, and training.
  • Create staffing plans for internal and external resources; make recommendations regarding long-term contractors or full-time additions.
  • Analyse project proposals to determine timelines, funding, and required processes.
  • Provide leadership and motivation to project teams throughout all project phases.
  • Implement effective communication including steering committee meetings and status reports.
  • Manage project risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Align project goals with business objectives and manage delivery on time and within budget.
  • Employ agile methodologies within the organization's SDLC framework.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you will need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field.
  • Minimum 7+ years experience in project management of complex IT projects.
  • Deep understanding of agile frameworks Scrum SAFe Disciplined Agile etc.
  • Project Management Professional PMP certification.
  • Background in Business Analysis.
  • Proven experience managing an IT Portfolio or PMO.
  • Prior team leadership supervisory experience.
  • Experience managing external vendors and contract staff.
  • Strong leadership interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication capable of engaging technical and non-technical audiences.
