Job Title: Assistant Maintenance Manager

This role requires a skilled maintenance professional to oversee the upkeep of equipment and utilities in a large industrial setting.

  • The successful candidate will report directly to the Plant Maintenance Manager, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration across teams.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation) is a mandatory requirement for this position, as it provides a solid foundation in technical principles and problem-solving strategies.
  • Possession of professional certifications such as Energy Manager, Boiler Engineer, TPM Facilitator, and Six Sigma is highly desirable, as they demonstrate expertise and commitment to excellence in maintenance practices.
  • Candidates should have at least 10 years of experience in maintenance & utilities management within a large industrial facility, with a proven track record of success in improving efficiency, reducing downtime, and enhancing overall plant performance.
Nature of Experience:
  • Maintenance of milk processing equipment, evaporators, dryers, pasteurisers, separators, bactofuge, vacuum pumps, DSI, high pressure pumps, blowers, fluid bed, sifter, cheddar master, cooker, etc.
  • Utilities equipment maintenance including boilers, steam networks, ammonia and freon-based refrigeration systems, compressed air and nitrogen generation systems, VAM, RO, UF, sand and carbon filters, pumps, DG sets, transformers, etc.
  • Experience with advanced maintenance practices such as root cause analysis, corrective action, mean time between failures, mean time to repair, preventive and predictive maintenance, electronic equipment monitoring tools and tackles.
  • Responsibility for preparing and monitoring maintenance budgets, setting and improving energy standards, identifying and executing cost and energy saving ideas.
  • Experienced in executing and achieving plant KPIs like productivity, losses, complaint reduction, specific energy consumption, production lines OEE improvement.
  • People management skills: capable of managing a team of 100 people, identifying training needs, performance assessment, and inculcating a human safety culture.
  • Analytical thought process to bring new concepts in maintenance practices, energy management, setting new standards.
  • Liaisoning with government agencies like factory, boiler, and electrical inspectors, MSEB, local administration.
  • Experience in capital expenditure, project execution, knowledge of AI and ML application, EMS would be an added advantage.
