Director of Digital Transformation

This leadership position will oversee and lead the digital transformation of an organization, driving multi-fold growth across India and beyond over the next 3 years.

The Director of Digital Transformation will establish a solid foundation for IT/digital transformation, supporting growth and differentiating the organization in the market – positioning it as a futuristic customer-centric entity.

This role will define the vision, roadmap, architecture, and implementation of IT/digital transformation, establishing a lean operations model enabling agility and efficiency. The Director will work closely with business unit leaders to help the organization become a lean and truly agile DevOps entity.

The Director will drive an application modernization and migration plan across the business, transforming the way the organization leverages technology and enables automation across the organization.

Defining an integrated data management approach and building an AI-enabled business analytics capability, this role will help the organization monetize data and leverage data for superior experience and business value creation.

While building a comprehensive security framework for the organization, this position will visualize and build customer/employee-centric experience platforms connecting the organization.

The Director will report to the CEO and be responsible for giving oversight and direction to IT and business leaders on strategy, standards, and opportunities for shared services and economies of scale.

• Develop and implement the IT & Digital transformation vision and strategy in alignment with the company's business objectives.
• Position the organization as a thought leader in industry forums and create visibility – own innovation charter across the organization.
• Advise the senior management team on emerging technologies and digital trends most relevant to the company's goals and evolving needs.
• Define futuristic IT architecture focused on experience-led customer/employee-centric systems – delivering a seamless omnichannel experience across sales and service.
• Communicate an IT vision and strategy across all levels of the organization and build consensus around key initiatives and projects.
• Lead and mentor the IT department, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Achieve Annual Operating Plan (AOP) targets and manage the IT budget effectively.
• Recruit, hire, and motivate a high-performing IT team that values transparency and accountability.

• Over 20 years of experience in IT/tech, preferably in retail organizations or services companies while managing end-to-end responsibilities for enterprises.
• Experience in digital transformation for enterprises, with experience in the retail industry preferred, spanning across business processes.
• Experience with omnichannel systems required for a new-generation retailer.
• Experience across applications, infrastructure, network, and end-user IT environment operations.
• Ability to define and manage a futuristic IT architecture – spanning applications, data, and security.
• Experience in establishing an IT governance model across the organization.
• Experience in DevOps transformation.
• Experience in Process transformation.
• Exposure to AI and automation technologies.
• Willingness to take risks and ability to start from scratch.
• Target orientation and familiarity with service delivery constructs relevant to IT services – experience in building and managing a partner ecosystem.
