Job Description:

This role involves reviewing and ensuring contracts comply with company policies and applicable laws. The successful candidate will work closely with senior legal counsel to safeguard the company's legal interests and maintain compliance standards.

The position requires strong contract review and drafting skills, as well as experience in legal research and advisory services. The ideal candidate should be proficient in email and Microsoft Office applications, possess problem-solving skills, and have good communication and interpersonal skills.

Key responsibilities include reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts; ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable laws; assisting in the development of standard contract templates and processes; working closely with business teams to advise on day-to-day issues and concerns with client agreements; monitoring and ensuring the company's adherence to regulatory and legal requirements across various jurisdictions; assisting in conducting internal compliance audits and risk assessments; supporting the development and implementation of compliance programs, policies, and training materials; advising on corporate governance, data protection, and regulatory compliance; conducting legal research on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards; providing advice and recommendations on legal risks and compliance matters to internal stakeholders; assisting senior legal counsel and legal team in preparing legal opinions and reports; and handling general legal administrative tasks, including maintaining contract databases and records.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • LLB or equivalent degree
  • 4-6 years of experience in a law firm or in-house experience
  • Proficiency with email and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Problem solving skills and detail-oriented
  • Good communication (written and verbal) and strong interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of contract laws and commercial agreements
