Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Database System Expert to manage and maintain our databases that power healthcare delivery platforms. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and security of our databases.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Database Administration: Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain relational database systems on-premises and on cloud, including MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, AWS RDS, Aurora, Azure SQL, GCP Cloud SQL.
  • Performance Tuning: Monitor database performance and tune queries, indexes, and configurations to ensure optimal response times using tools like CloudWatch, Performance Insights, Grafana, or pgAdmin.
  • Data Security and Integrity: Ensure data security, integrity, backup, and recovery processes are in place and regularly tested.
  • Automation and Deployment: Automate routine database maintenance and deployment tasks using CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, or AWS-native services.
  • Deployment Support: Support deployments by reviewing database scripts, migrations, and data patches for both on-prem and cloud environments.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot database-related issues in production and non-production environments.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Qualification: Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Strong Database Knowledge: Strong hands-on experience with MySQL, expertise in database monitoring and observability tools, and deep understanding of query optimization, indexing strategies, and performance tuning in high-transaction environments.
    • Backup and Recovery Experience: Experience with backup, recovery, replication, clustering, and failover strategies, familiarity with Linux environments, shell scripting, and automation tools, and good understanding of APIs, application-database interactions, and deployment workflows in microservices-based architectures.
