Job Title: Database Professional

As a seasoned database professional, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the availability and performance of our MS SQL databases.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Monitor generated log and event files indicating errors that may lead to incidents.
  • Ensure DR database is always available.
  • Monitor database log replication and report status as per agreed schedules.
  • Track sessions, queries, logs, and latches for optimal performance.
  • Respond promptly to database-related incidents and drive corrective action.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Tech Review: Periodically review configurations to maintain consistency.
  • Tuning DB Parameters: Optimize database parameters for better performance.
  • Problem Management: Identify, categorize, prioritize, and manage problems through the problem management process.
  • Database Recovery: Restore databases as needed.
  • Documentation Maintenance: Manage and update all database environment documentation.
  • Compliance Management: Ensure SQL patch compliance and hardening compliance.

To succeed in this role, you must have strong technical skills and experience in managing and supporting MS SQL databases, including failover clustering, Always ON setup, transaction replication, link servers, and more. Team management experience is also essential.
