Job Title: Senior Oracle Database Migration Specialist

Overview:

This is a senior-level position responsible for leading the end-to-end database migration lifecycle across assessment, planning, execution, validation, and post-migration optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement migration strategies, methodologies, and best practices to ensure successful migrations with minimal downtime and seamless delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, design, and execute Oracle database migrations across various environments, including Data Center-to-Data Center, AWS-to-AWS cloud setups, Azure-to-Azure cloud setups, Oracle Exadata (Exadata to Exadata, Exadata to ExaCC), and Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC) environments.
  • Design and implement delta data synchronization strategies for near-zero downtime migration.
  • Use Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) for database performance monitoring, health checks, proactive alerting, migration tracking, and validation.
  • Document migration runbooks, rollback procedures, and knowledge transfer.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of Oracle Database experience, with 5+ years in leadership/managerial roles overseeing database migration programs.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale Oracle migrations in multi-cloud, Exadata, and ExaCC environments.
  • Strong experience with Oracle Exadata administration, migration, and performance tuning, as well as Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC) implementation and management.
  • Experience in data purging, retention policies, and compliance for regulated environments.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-native database solutions in AWS (RDS, EC2, S3) and Azure (Azure SQL, Blob Storage, Recovery Vaults).
