Senior Card Operations and Chargeback Specialist

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Card Operations and Chargeback Specialist to join our operations team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in minimizing financial losses for the bank, merchants, and cardholders by implementing robust chargeback management processes and ensuring compliance with card scheme regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle daily chargeback cases promptly to minimize financial exposure.
  • Investigate disputes thoroughly and ensure accurate documentation to defend against unwarranted chargebacks.
  • Analyze dispute data to identify high-risk merchants, transaction types, or patterns leading to chargebacks.

You will work closely with product, promotions, and operations teams to assess risk impact of new initiatives and campaigns, providing input during product design and rollout to ensure risk controls are embedded from inception. Your expertise in chargeback management and dispute resolution will be essential in reducing loss ratios and improving dispute win rates.

In addition, you will maintain strong financial controls, ensuring compliance with internal risk policies and regulatory requirements, and balance risk mitigation with service delivery to protect profitability while ensuring positive merchant and cardholder experience.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of card scheme regulations, including Visa, Mastercard, JCB, CUP, Diners, and other relevant regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work with cross-functional teams.

Card Scheme Regulations Expertise:

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of card scheme regulations, including Visa, Mastercard, JCB, CUP, and Diners. They will be able to analyze complex data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to inform business decisions.

Dispute Resolution Skills:

The successful candidate will have excellent dispute resolution skills, with the ability to investigate disputes thoroughly and ensure accurate documentation. They will also be able to communicate effectively with stakeholders, including merchants, cardholders, and internal teams.
