The role of System Support Specialist is a crucial position in maintaining the stability and efficiency of our IT environment. This individual will serve as the primary point of contact for all IT-related issues and requests, providing exceptional customer service and technical support.
This position involves troubleshooting basic technical problems, escalating complex issues to higher-level support, and ensuring seamless communication with users and stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of various systems, including Mac Systems, Windows systems, Google Administration, and Google Workspace Applications. Additionally, they will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling them to work effectively with diverse groups.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Support: Provide initial technical support to end-users, addressing hardware, software, applications, and network connectivity issues.
- Ticket Management: Log, categorize, and prioritize all incoming IT support tickets in the ticketing system, ensuring timely resolution and escalation when necessary.
- Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of IT procedures and solutions, educating users on common IT issues and best practices.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with colleagues and stakeholders to resolve issues, participate in on-call rotations, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for service desk operations.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 2+ years of experience in an IT service desk role, with a strong understanding of Mac Systems, Windows systems, Google Administration, and Google Workspace Applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- A customer-centric mindset with a focus on providing positive user experiences.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a willingness to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- ITIL Foundation certification or similar would be a plus.
- Experience with ITSM tools, such as ServiceNow or Jira Service Management.
- Familiarity with remote support tools and technologies.
