Product Optimization Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a Product Optimization Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our production planning department, you will be responsible for conducting evaluations of products, processes, and assembly hierarchies to achieve optimization of hours per vehicle/cycle-time.

You will provide design teams with inputs on design for assembly/manufacturing needs in early planning, conduct product studies, and define assembly processes considering quality, safety, delivery, and ergonomics.

Additionally, you will associate parts, tools, and quality attributes with process definitions, conduct preliminary line balance/TAKT time/cycle time planning, and experience in designing small jigs and fixtures.

Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct evaluation of Product, Process and Assembly hierarchy to achieve optimization of Hours per vehicle/ Cycle-time.
  2. Provide Design team with inputs of Design for Assembly/Manufacturing needs in early planning.
  3. Conduct Product Study & Define assembly process keeping in consideration Quality, Safety, Delivery & Ergonomics.
  4. Associate Part, Tool & Quality attributes with the process definition.
  5. Conduct preliminary Line Balance / TAKT time / Cycle time planning.
  6. Experience in designing small Jigs & Fixtures
  7. Time Study using MTM or MOST standards (MTM certification is desirable)
  8. As process planner, suggest enhancements/improvement by comparing with earlier product-line.
  9. Project management with responsibility for delivery, quality, time and innovation
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need the following skills and qualifications:

  • Technical Background: Assembly Planning and Digital Validation
  • Hands-on Experience: General Assembly process and Problem resolution
  • Software and Systems Knowledge: DELMIA V5/Process Simulate/Vismockup/Team center visualization/Human Jack etc.
  • Desirable Skills: Time study using MTM & MOST techniques, Research oriented approach and idea generation skills to encounter problems
  • Years of Experience: 3 to 6 Years
