As a Senior Database Developer, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing scalable database solutions using MySQL and MS SQL Server. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in SQL programming, database architecture, and data integration, along with excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop high-performance database schemas, tables, views, stored procedures, functions, and triggers to meet business requirements.
  • Collaborate with application development teams to translate data requirements into efficient database designs that optimize performance and scalability.
  • Perform advanced data modeling and create ER diagrams to visualize complex relationships between data entities.
  • Optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks to ensure seamless database operations.
  • Implement indexing strategies and query optimization techniques to improve database performance and efficiency.
  • Monitor database performance metrics and proactively resolve issues to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
  • Manage backups, recovery, and disaster recovery plans for MySQL and MS SQL to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Ensure database security, access control, and data encryption to protect sensitive information.
  • Handle patching, upgrades, and migrations to maintain database compatibility and performance.
  • Develop and maintain ETL processes for system-to-system data integration to provide accurate and timely insights.
  • Implement data warehousing solutions for reporting and analytics to support business decision-making.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 6-7 years of proven experience as a Database Developer (MySQL & MS SQL).
  • Expert-level SQL programming (T-SQL, PL/SQL) and knowledge of database design, data modeling, and normalization.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with cloud database services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of additional databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle) and scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) is also beneficial.
