Database Specialist

Job Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned database specialist to collaborate with our technology team. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of relational database architecture and infrastructure, specifically Microsoft SQL Server.

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-availability and disaster-recovery-friendly database architectures
  • Create and optimize database backup and restoration processes
  • Develop complex functions, scripts, stored procedures, and triggers to support application development
  • Design and develop multiple complex relational database reports using SQL Server Reporting Services

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage locking, process blocking, and performance tuning of databases
  • Implement monitoring and metrics tooling and dashboards for database performance and operation
  • Handle support tickets and provide backup support to peers
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and break-down complex problems

Requirements:

  • Advanced knowledge of relational database architecture/infrastructure, specifically Microsoft SQL Server
  • Knowledge of SQL Server Management Studio, SQL Server Reporting Services, and support tooling
  • Experience with Always On High Availability Groups is a plus
  • Cloud database storage technologies experience preferred
