Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Database Operations Specialist to administer multiple Oracle and SQL Server databases across various locations in a distributed environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide user support and troubleshoot database-related issues 24/7
  • Conduct regular health checks on databases, identify bottlenecks, and resolve them
  • Coordinate with vendors to implement new patches and requirements within specified timelines
  • Transfer knowledge to peers and subordinates through technical training
  • Test product patches, track issues, and provide go-live support for new features

Required Skills:

  • Expertise in Oracle database architecture, cloning, patching, and upgrade
  • Installation, troubleshooting, and monitoring of Oracle Golden Gate - 11g bidirectional replication
  • Production critical/multi-terabyte Oracle Databases administration, monitoring, proactive health check
  • Database backup/recovery, including Hot Backup, Cold Backup, and RMAN
  • SQL query tuning and database performance analysis
  • Administration of oracle partitioned tables and their maintenance
  • Administration of Oracle Application Server / Oracle Forms & Reports Server - 10g/11g
  • Disaster recovery strategies for production/non-production databases
  • Experience with packages and tools like SQL*Plus, PL/SQL, Oracle RMAN, OEM, OUI, DBCA, NETCA
  • Security administration, auditing, creating users, roles, profiles, assigning object level and column level grants
  • Basic UNIX shell commands and scripting

Desirable Skills:

  • Understanding of SQL Server database architecture, administration, patching, and upgrade
