Job Title: Linux Support Engineer

Our client, a leading banking institution, is seeking an experienced Linux Support Engineer to join their team. This role will be responsible for providing L2-level support for Linux in a mission-critical banking environment.

  • Provide L2-level support for Linux in a mission-critical banking environment.
  • Ensure compliance with PCI DSS, SWIFT, and local banking regulator requirements.
  • Operate under ITIL processes (Incident/Change/Problem/Knowledge).
  • Maintain high availability, performance, and security; participate in DR/BCP drills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot complex incidents and manage approved platform changes.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for recurring incidents and implement permanent fixes.
  • Tune configurations and schedule jobs to enhance performance and reliability.
  • Coordinate vendor TAC cases, firmware/patch planning, and validate post-change health.
  • Demonstrate strong documentation, runbook hygiene, and clear communication with stakeholders.
  • Ownership mindset with readiness for 24x7 support and on-call rotation.

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of experience in Linux support, preferably in a banking or finance environment.
  • Experience with RHEL, CentOS, Debian GNU, FreeBSD, and Ubuntu operating systems.
  • Knowledge of Linux virtualization and cloud computing technologies.
