Business Leader - Financial Strategy

The position will oversee the Finance function for a hotel property.

This role champions, develops and implements strategies that deliver products and services to meet or exceed customer and employee needs and expectations.

The position provides financial expertise to enable successful implementation of brand strategy and initiatives while maximizing return on investment. It also creates and executes a business plan aligned with the property's strategy, focusing on financial activities and desirable results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops means to improve profit, including estimating costs and benefits, exploring new opportunities, etc.
  • Analyses information, forecasts sales against expenses and creates annual budget plans.
  • Compiles information, analyses and monitors actual sales against projected sales.
  • Identifies underlying principles, reasons or facts of information by breaking down data into separate parts.
  • Thinks creatively and practically to develop, execute and implement new business plans.
  • Creates annual operating budgets for properties.
  • Provides analytical support during budget reviews to identify cost-saving and productivity opportunities.
  • Implements systems of appropriate controls to manage business risks.
  • Ensures strong accounting and operational control environments to safeguard assets, improve operations and profitability.
  • Analyses financial data and market trends.
  • Leads development and implementation of comprehensive annual business plans aligned with company strategic direction.

  • Communicates strategic goals, focus and priorities to subordinates in clear and precise manner.

  • Provides excellent leadership by assigning team members and other departments clear accountability backed by authority.

Qualifications:

  • CA/MBA/Masters degree with Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 10+ years experience in accounting preferably with hotel industry.
