Job Title: Finance Officer Grants

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Officer Grants to join our team at the Center for International Forestry Research CIFOR and WorldAgroforestry ICRAF. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing financial management and support to our grants team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Management: Monitor budget and actual expenses of restricted grants, maintain complete records of all pertinent documents, and coordinate with other finance staff and project leaders to ensure financial implementation adheres to project agreements.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with donors, collaborators, project leaders, and scientists to clarify financial issues, answer queries, and provide updates on financial and budget status.
  • Grant Budgeting and Compliance: Review and verify expenditures of restricted projects to ensure adherence to budgetary and donor requirements.
  • Grant Agreements and Reporting: Review financial parts of new grant agreements and grant agreement amendments, and prepare reports on specific project finances to donors and other users.
  • Internal Reporting and Monitoring: Update monthly summaries of restricted projects, monitor partner balances, and collect unused funds.
  • Special Audit and Compliance: Execute the selection process of audit firms, provide supporting documents and queries from external auditors, and review preliminary draft audit reports.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of a university education in accounting.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in financial and accounting services, project or cost accounting, and ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical and computer skills, with proficiency in word processing, database, and other relevant office applications.
  • Experience working with a wide and diverse network of groups and individuals.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
