Senior Finance Officer Grants

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Grants Manager to join our team at the Center for International Forestry Research CIFOR and World Agroforestry ICRAF. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of grants, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Management
Monitor budget and actual expenses of restricted grants, maintaining a complete record of all pertinent documents and coordinating with finance staff and project leaders to ensure financial implementation adheres to project agreements. - Grant Budgeting
Collaborate with Principal Investigators on budgets for partnerships, travel, supplies, consultants, publications, and other costs based on available funds of ongoing restricted projects. - Donor Reporting
Prepare reports on project finances to donors and other users in compliance with organizational standards and donor requirements. - Grant Revision and Amendment
Review revised budgets for ongoing projects, ensuring grants recover full overheads and providing guidance on budget figures and lines. - Grant Agreements
Review financial parts and other relevant information of new Grant Agreements and Grant agreement amendments. - Internal Reporting
Update monthly summaries of restricted projects with multiyear budgets and cumulative expenses, as well as staff time allocation and three-year staff plans. - Special Audit of Restricted Projects
Assist with coordination and attend entry and exit meetings on audit of projects for grants managed, providing guidance on queries from external auditors. - Daily and Monthly Operations
Verify and approve journal vouchers, monitor donor receivables and payables, and provide explanations on monthly summaries of donor receivables and payables. - Restricted Grants Partners Financial Management Monitoring
Implement partner financial monitoring tools and mechanisms, supervise financial compliance for restricted grants partners, and analyze partner expenses for feedback to project leaders and managers.
A minimum of a university education in accounting, Chartered Accountant, and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience. Experience with an ERP, familiarity with Agresso Unit 4 and Vision XL is an advantage. Strong analytical skills, strong computer skills in word processing, database, and other relevant office applications, and experience working with a wide and diverse network of groups and individuals. Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
