IT Strategic Leader Job Summary:

The Senior IT Executive plays a pivotal role in overseeing the university's technology infrastructure and services, ensuring seamless operations.

This position involves a blend of hands-on technical support, system administration, and project coordination. The successful candidate will contribute to the strategic implementation and maintenance of IT solutions that support the academic, administrative, and research needs of the university community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily IT operations, including network availability, server performance, and system uptime.
  • Provide advanced technical support for hardware (desktops, laptops, servers, printers) and software issues for faculty, staff, and students.
  • Manage day-to-day IT tasks and user requests, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Implement and manage software deployment, updates, and patching across the university's systems.
Network & Infrastructure Management:
  • Assist in the administration and maintenance of the university's wired and wireless networks (LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi access points, routers, switches).
  • Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and ensure network security.
  • Manage and maintain server infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Oversee data backup and recovery operations to ensure business continuity.
Software & System Administration:
  • Administer and support key university applications, including Learning Management Systems (LMS - e.g., Camu, Moodle, Canvas), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, Student Information Systems (SIS), and other academic/administrative software.
  • Administer and maintain Microsoft Exchange Online for email services.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls across various platforms.
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are also essential for this role.

Proven experience in IT service management, network administration, and software development is highly desirable.

Proficiency in relevant technologies, such as operating systems, databases, and software applications, is required.

A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
