Technical Performance Specialist

The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee and resolve the most challenging technical issues within the organization. This position involves providing expert-level support for performance-related matters, ensuring seamless instance availability.
Key aspects of the job include:
- Utilizing tools such as BigData, Splunk, and Grafana to analyze metrics and identify trends related to transactional throughput, memory, CPU, job processing, and disk utilization.
- Applying database optimization skills to directly tune databases, add indexes, maintain tables and data, and understand execution plans to recommend better-formed queries.
- Reviewing application code to address performance concerns and optimize it for improved efficiency.
- Bridging the gap between customers and internal teams (Development, Infrastructure, Networking, Hardware) to reproduce performance issues and conduct root cause analysis.
Required qualifications:
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, Oracle)
- Proficiency in Java, with an understanding of object-oriented design principles and memory management
- Scripting language expertise (preferably JavaScript), Python, or Perl
- Advanced knowledge of Unix/Linux
- Ability to analyze Java heap dumps and thread dumps
