System Engineer - Ignition SCADA

In this pivotal role, you will spearhead the implementation of real-time data acquisition and visualization solutions using Ignition SCADA and MES applications across manufacturing operations. A crucial aspect of your responsibilities will be to architect and integrate OT systems with enterprise IT systems.

You will design, develop, and maintain secure, efficient data exchange mechanisms utilizing REST APIs, MQTT, and OPC UA protocols. Your expertise in industrial databases, SQL historian, and timeseries databases will ensure high availability and performance.

A key part of your duties will involve collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to align system capabilities with production and business needs. You will provide technical leadership in digital transformation initiatives such as Industry 40 smart manufacturing and predictive analytics.

You will troubleshoot, optimize, and support existing SCADAMES deployments to minimize downtime. Additionally, you will mentor junior engineers and facilitate knowledge sharing across the engineering team.

  • Proven expertise with Ignition SCADA Inductive Automation is essential, including scripting module configuration and project deployment.
  • A strong background in MES functions, production tracking OEE downtime analysis, traceability SPC etc is required.
  • Proficiency with database technologies, SQL Server MySQL, PostgreSQL or equivalent is necessary.
  • Hands-on experience with OTIT integration technologies, REST APIs for system interconnectivity, MQTT for IIoT messaging and lightweight communication, and OPC UA for industrial interoperability is vital.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial control systems PLC, SCADA HMIs and plant floor connectivity is expected.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing standards ISA95 ISA88, ISA99IEC 62443 is advantageous.
