Job Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our ocean freight operations in the region, driving service quality, compliance, and cost efficiency.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of ocean freight management, ensuring seamless execution of FCL, LCL, imports, and exports.
  • Develop and execute strategies to drive P&L performance, meeting revenue, gross profit, and cost optimization targets.
  • Negotiate with carriers, NVOCCs, and vendors to secure competitive rates and optimal space allocation.
  • Collaborate with sales and account management teams to support business growth, enhance customer satisfaction, and expand market share in key trade lanes.
  • Maintain regional performance metrics through KPIs, such as transit times, documentation accuracy, and operational efficiency, taking corrective action to ensure service reliability.
  • Ensure adherence to company standards, ISO requirements, and regulatory guidelines while promoting process improvements and digitalization.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the regional ocean operations team, focusing on engagement, capability building, and performance delivery.

Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field is required. Minimum 10-12 years of relevant experience in logistics, preferably with regional or P&L responsibilities.

Essential Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for short-term/tactical and long-term/strategic decision-making.
  • Proven ability to manage logistics-related escalations, complaints, and quality matters.
  • Knowledge of sustainability practices in shipping and logistics.
  • Familiarity with international trade regulations and customs processes.
  • Experience with cost-optimization or process re-engineering projects.

Interpersonal & Communication Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and team development capabilities.
  • Effective negotiation skills with shipping lines and vendors.
  • Ability to manage conflict and drive alignment across functions.
  • Experience handling cross-cultural teams and global stakeholders.
