Reliability Engineer

At the forefront of technology, a unique opportunity awaits an accomplished Reliability Engineer. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive system reliability and resilience.

This is a chance to shape the SRE function within the organization, contributing to the development of the Group SRE team as a founding member. Work alongside a small group of SREs in platform engineering and operations teams, as well as wider infrastructure teams for both public cloud and on-premises platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement SRE Strategy: Establish and execute the SRE strategy, aligning with the organization's objectives.
  • Foster Automation Culture: Promote an 'Automate-first' culture by reducing toil through process optimization and automation.
  • Process Optimization: Identify and eliminate inefficiencies, delay, and redundancy in processes.
  • Metric Development and Improvement: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop actionable plans for operational efficiency enhancement, service quality improvement, and delivery optimization.
  • SLO Development: Work with cross-functional teams to establish Service Level Objectives (SLOs) for critical services.
  • Monitoring Strategy: Design and implement monitoring strategies in collaboration with the Engineering team.
  • Reliability Improvements: Contribute to the design and implementation of reliability enhancements.
  • Capacity Planning: Conduct capacity planning exercises to ensure optimal resource allocation.
  • Chaos Engineering: Perform chaos engineering tests to validate system resilience.
  • Architectural Reviews: Lead architectural reviews for reliability, providing insights into potential areas of improvement.
  • Incident Analysis: Drive continuous improvement from incident analysis and resolution.
  • Test and Deployment Processes: Contribute to ensuring that Test and Deployment processes are reliable and automated.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in SRE role.
  • Practical experience defining and implementing Service Level Objectives, operating under Error Budgets.
  • Hands-on experience implementing and operating monitoring and observability technologies for enterprise-grade production systems.
  • Experience with corporate software development lifecycle methodologies, with some background in GitOps desirable.
  • Demonstrated understanding of technical systems and their interactions.
  • Strong analytical skills and a solid grasp of critical Production Support processes.
  • 2+ years of experience working with one or more public/private cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
