Reliability Engineering Specialist

Combining development and operations knowledge is key to site reliability. If you have SRE or development background and experience improving service/product reliability through observability, your skills can benefit a career in this field.

Job Overview

We're seeking a reliability engineering specialist to help achieve our reliability goals. You'll work closely with product development teams, Cloud Infrastructure, and other SRE teams to ensure effective observability and improve the reliability of products and infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Enlighten, enable, and empower multi-disciplinary teams across applications and locations by championing standards and best practices.
  • Tackle complex development, automation, and business process problems, ensuring Cvent standards and best practices are upheld.
  • Evaluate the scalability, performance, and resilience of products and processes, working closely with product development teams, Cloud Automation, and other SRE teams to identify and resolve observability gaps.
  • Develop build, test, and deployment automation targeting multiple on-premises and AWS regions, contributing to Open-Source projects.
Requirements
  • Excellent communication skills and track record working in distributed teams.
  • A passion for improving things for peers, self-motivation, and ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Experience managing AWS services/operational knowledge of managing applications in AWS via automation.
  • Fluency in at least one scripting language (Typescript, Javascript, Python, Ruby, Bash).
  • Experience with SDLC methodologies (preferably Agile).
  • Observability expertise (Logging, Metrics, Tracing) and SLI/SLO.
  • Working with APM, monitoring, and logging tools (Datadog, New Relic, Splunk).
  • Containerization understanding - docker, ECS, EKS, Kubernetes.
