The Founding Engineer Role
  • Design and develop core services: data ingestion, normalization, matching, and real-time scoring.
  • Build scalable APIs for use by financial institutions and enterprise data teams.
  • Oversee end-to-end features from product discovery to testing, deployment, and ongoing optimization.
  • Establish a reliable data stack with strong service level agreements and cost efficiency.
  • Set engineering standards and influence the product roadmap.
  • Collaborate directly with customers to validate use cases and drive quick iteration based on feedback.
  • Contribute to hiring and mentoring the next wave of engineers; support growth into a VP/CTO track as the company scales.
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • 2–8+ years building production systems with reliability and scalability in mind.
  • Strength in at least two areas: backend development, data engineering, storage solutions, distributed systems, or API/platform engineering.
  • Cloud fundamentals, containerization, infrastructure-as-code, monitoring, and testing expertise.
  • A product-oriented mindset, prioritizing customer outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Strong foundational knowledge in algorithms, data modeling, and system design.
  • Security and reliability instincts, particularly valuable in regulated environments.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with experience collaborating across time zones.
