Database Reliability Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Database Reliability Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in ensuring high availability, security, and performance of MySQL databases.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design and implement large-scale MySQL/Galera clusters across multiple geographies, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.
  2. Collaborate with the infrastructure team to ensure seamless integration with other systems, promoting overall system reliability.
  3. Develop and maintain automated scripts for backups, upgrades, and resource provisioning, minimizing manual intervention and reducing errors.
  4. Monitor and troubleshoot complex database issues, employing advanced diagnostic techniques to resolve problems efficiently.
Requirements:
  1. Proven experience in administering large farms of multi-master MySQL clusters with 1TB+ databases, demonstrating ability to scale and manage complex systems.
  2. Expertise in optimizing MySQL configuration and handling DDL operations efficiently, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
  3. Strong collaboration and communication skills, with ability to guide junior engineers and contribute to best practices for database systems.
