Job Overview:

This role provides top-notch customer support in a fast-paced environment. As a firewall support specialist, you will be responsible for handling technical issues related to firewalls and network services.

  • Proactively monitor and analyze network traffic to identify potential issues before they occur.
  • Implement effective troubleshooting strategies to resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop and maintain best practices for firewall configurations and network security.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide exceptional customer service through phone, chat, or email support.
  2. Log and track all communications received into the ticketing system.
  3. Establish and maintain high-quality working relationships with customers.
  4. Follow established standards to resolve specific problems and escalate issues as needed.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient knowledge of network protocols, including SSH, FTP, ICMP, TCP/IP (IPv4 & IPv6), NAT, SNMP, IPSec, GRE, QoS, and VLANs.
  • Ability to interpret output from network traffic analysis tools such as Ethereal (Wireshark).
  • Strong interpersonal and consulting skills to align customer needs with tactical and strategic solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with Meraki and Fortinet firewalls.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate in a dynamic team environment.
  • Firewall implementation and support.
  • Installing managed network solutions, including Fortinet firewalls.
  • Making changes to firewalls in support of customer needs.
  • Solving technical customer issues around firewalls, filtering, IP networking, routing, VPNs, and application connectivity.
  • Respond to firewall/network issues on a rotating on-call basis.
  • Monitor performance, capacity, and availability of firewalls on an ongoing basis.
  • Recommend improvements in technologies and practices to increase these metrics.
