Oracle Database Administrator

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the performance optimization, tuning and integration of our Oracle database systems.

This includes working with application developers and infrastructure teams to ensure efficient database design and high availability.

  • Performance Optimization & Tuning: Analyze and resolve database bottlenecks affecting application performance. Implement best practices for connection pooling, partitioning, and caching strategies.
  • Application & Middleware Integration Support: Work with API Gateway and custom orchestration teams to optimize database interaction patterns. Ensure efficient database design for web applications with high concurrency and SLA targets.
  • On-Premise & Cloud Integration: Manage data synchronization between on-prem Oracle and Fusion Cloud Oracle DB via OIC (Oracle Integration Cloud). Implement and support Pub/Sub mechanisms for customer data exchange.
  • Operational Excellence: Proactively monitor system health, query execution plans, and workload statistics. Provide root cause analysis and resolution for performance incidents.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Experience: 6–8 years as an Oracle DBA, with emphasis on Application DBA responsibilities.

Expertise: Oracle 12c/19c performance tuning, indexing, partitioning, optimizer hints. SQL and PL/SQL development and debugging. AWR, ASH, ADDM, TKPROF, and other Oracle diagnostic/tuning tools.

Familiarity: Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) and Fusion Cloud database integration. High availability, scalability, and SLA management for mission-critical applications.

Communication Skills: Strong analytical skills and ability to work in cross-functional agile teams. Excellent communication skills to interact with application developers, architects, and operations teams.

Preferred/Bonus Skills
  • Exposure: Oracle GoldenGate or other replication tools.
  • Experience: API Gateway products (Apigee, Kong, Oracle API Gateway, etc.). Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and DevOps pipelines for DB changes.
