Software Development Manager, Amazon Fulfillment Technologies

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Manager to lead our team of talented engineers in developing world-class scalable services for Amazon's global fulfillment network. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of software engineers in designing, developing, and deploying scalable software systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product features, drive system architecture, and spearhead best practices.
- Develop and maintain technical expertise in software development, architecture, and engineering practices.
- Partner with product management teams to understand customer requirements and develop technical solutions.
- Manage and prioritize multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
About the Team
Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT) powers Amazon's global fulfillment network. We invent and deliver software, hardware, and data science solutions that orchestrate processes, robots, machines, and people. We harmonize the physical and virtual world so Amazon customers can get what they want, when they want it.
Requirements
- 7+ years of engineering experience.
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams.
- Experience managing a team of high-caliber software engineers developing complex, world-class, scalable software systems.
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years' experience leading teams developing applications backed by AWS services or using other cloud-based software.
- Believes in people-first and leads with empathy.
- Customer-obsessed with the ability to distill customer requirements into technical solutions.
- Experience communicating with users, technical teams, and management.
- Strong business and technical vision.
