Job Title: Academic Leadership Role

Position Overview:

The Director of Curriculum Excellence drives academic achievement by ensuring effective lesson planning, modern teaching practices, and consistent instructional quality across the school.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lesson Plan Oversight:
    • Review and monitor lesson plans from all teachers (Pre-Primary, Primary, and Secondary)
    • Evaluate alignment with contemporary pedagogical strategies and curriculum standards
    • Provide constructive feedback and recommendations for improvement
  • Teacher Support & Development:
    • Offer ongoing coaching and mentoring to enhance lesson planning and instructional delivery
    • Conduct follow-up workshops and training sessions on innovative teaching methods
    • Provide subject-specific and grade-specific planning guidance when needed
  • Classroom Observations:
    • Create and maintain an observation schedule covering all teachers in the school
    • Conduct formal and informal classroom observations to evaluate teaching effectiveness
    • Share targeted and actionable feedback to improve student engagement and learning outcomes
  • Reporting & Communication:
    • Prepare monthly academic performance and instructional quality reports for senior leadership
    • Maintain open communication with the Vice Principal to address challenges and track progress
    • Discuss performance issues and recommend necessary interventions
  • Academic Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure consistent implementation of approved teaching and learning strategies
    • Identify professional development needs based on observation data and lesson plan reviews
    • Collaborate with senior leaders to make academic decisions that enhance instructional quality
