Job Title: Accounts Payable Specialist

Role Overview

The ideal candidate will bring strong knowledge of US accounting principles, the ability to process high volumes of transactions accurately, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.

This role is responsible for managing the accounts payable function, ensuring timely and accurate payment processing, vendor management, and reconciliation of statements. The incumbent will work closely with property managers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure seamless invoice coding and approvals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process Invoices: Process invoices, expense reports, and vendor payments with accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage Vendors: Manage vendor onboarding, updates, and issue resolution.
  • Reconcile Statements: Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support Month-End Close: Support month-end close, accruals, and reporting activities.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Collaborate with property managers, vendors, and internal teams for invoice coding and approvals.
  • Prepare Payments: Prepare payments via checks, ACH, and wire transfers.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with US GAAP and IRS regulations.
  • Track Payment Schedules: Track payment schedules and monitor cash flow.
  • Improve Processes: Contribute to process improvement initiatives in accounts payable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).
  • Experience: 3–5 years of experience in Accounts Payable, preferably with US-based accounting exposure.
  • Real Estate Sector: Experience in the US real estate sector is a strong plus.
  • Accounting Software: Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; Yardi experience preferred.
  • US GAAP and IRS Regulations: Strong understanding of US GAAP and IRS regulations related to AP.
  • Excel Skills: Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Multiple Priorities: Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities under deadlines
