Proposal Expert

This role involves working on federal government contracting, specifically in research and business development, as well as bid management and proposal writing.

  • We are seeking experienced professionals with sound knowledge of RFP/RFQ/RFI management, bid management, capture management, and US Federal government contracting.
  • A strong background in USA Federal/State/County and Commercial clients experience is mandatory.
  • Responsibilities include managing bids, capture management, responding to RFPs and other presales activities.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for anchoring responses to proactive (proposals) as well as reactive (RFP/RFI) bids.
  • Key skills include identifying and proposing improvements or innovations to services, product functionality or processes.
  • Preparation of customer-specific sales collaterals by working closely with practice teams is also essential.
  • Assistance will be provided to the sales team in developing account penetration strategies and account-specific sales plans.

Must-Haves:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in pre-sales & proposal writing in an IT services/staffing company.
  • Understanding of US Federal government and SLED contracting.
  • Experience in RFP/RFQ/RFI management and a good understanding of the end-to-end sales life cycle.
  • Handling of capture management, lead generation, and bid management.
  • Excellent presentation skills and proficiency in MS Office to prepare proposals, case studies, marketing collateral.
  • Ability to navigate and obtain required information from stakeholders to design a compelling solution/proposal.
  • Strong understanding of US Federal government contracting, including contract vehicles, GWACs, GSA Platform & IDIQs, capture & bid management using portals such as SAM.GOV, GovTribe, GovWIN, FedConnect & GSA and FPDS.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Proactive identification of opportunities and improvement suggestions for the service and product portfolio.
  • Development of capabilities presentations, case studies, and solution documents by working closely with practice teams.
  • Collaboration with the sales team to develop account penetration strategies and account-specific sales plans.

  • Familiarity with sales tools like CRM systems and project management software.
  • Leadership and mentoring skills to train junior team members.
  • Industry certifications like PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile methodologies.
