Job Overview:

The Academic Leadership Director plays a pivotal role as the Chief Executive & Academic Head at an esteemed Medical University, leading with purpose, vision, and heart. This senior position oversees a wide range of responsibilities from academics & research excellence to operations including financial and people leadership, student experience, success & well-being, and global partnerships.

Main Responsibilities:Strategic Academic Direction
  • Leverage expertise to drive the continuous improvement of curriculum design, pedagogy, and assessment based on learning outcomes, technological advancement, and industry needs.
  • Promote academic innovation by fostering faculty and students in scholarly activities, publishing, and securing research funding.
Institutional Governance and Compliance
  • Elevate institutional frameworks and administrative systems to facilitate cutting-edge research and seamless academic operations.
  • Maintain compliance with statutory, regulatory, and accreditation requirements (UGC, NMC, MCI, etc.).
External Engagement and Representation
  • Represent the institution at national and international platforms to build visibility and reputation.
  • Nurture partnerships with academic institutions, healthcare providers, research bodies, and industries to support student internships, placements, and knowledge exchange.
Student Success
  • Cultivate a safe, inclusive, and intellectually stimulating campus environment.
  • Prioritize student welfare, mentoring, career readiness, and holistic development.
Requirements:
  • A distinguished academician with teaching experience in a reputable institution within a private university system.
  • A medical Doctor or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from a premier institution with experience in academic education, research, curriculum development, Administration, management is required. Qualifications and experience in medicine / allied healthcare institutions is a distinct advantage.
  • Minimum 10+ Years of experience as professor or equivalent positions held in university system or reputed research or academic administrative organizations is required.
  • Proven expertise in steering institution toward top NIRF rankings / NAAC accreditations etc.
  • A seasoned leader with intellectual breadth, strong interpersonal skills, demonstrated expertise in research-driven programs and policies, experience developing and leveraging partnerships, and success leading diverse, complex teams and organizations.
