Job Title: Asset Accounting Specialist

As an Asset Accounting Specialist, you will oversee the financial performance of a portfolio of commercial properties. This involves reviewing and ensuring the accuracy of 3rd party property accounting, cash management, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage overall property level accounting, including rent rolls, lease maintenance, and cash management
  • Review and approve operating and tax escalations
  • Prepare unaudited financial reports and provide comprehensive audit support
  • Work with the Acquisitions team to review diligence materials and prepare settlement statements
  • Monitor post-closing activity for true-up with buyers or sellers

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of experience in property accounting, with a focus on commercial real estate
  • Experience with Funds and/or Joint Ventures, as well as fair value GAAP, tax accounting, and IFRS
  • Proficiency with tenant recoveries (CAM) and waterfall calculations
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively
  • Detail-oriented and able to multitask and prioritize
  • Proficiency with financial software systems and Microsoft Windows software programs, with MRI experience a plus
