Job Overview

We are seeking an accomplished Database Reliability Specialist to design, develop, and manage databases on the AWS cloud platform.

This role is a key contributor to our organization's data strategy, requiring strong expertise in database administration, automation, and security. As a Database Reliability Specialist, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our databases meet business needs and provide excellent performance.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop databases on the AWS cloud platform.
  • Maintain and improve automation scripts or jobs for routine database tasks such as provisioning, backups, restores, and data migrations.
  • Develop automated testing frameworks for database changes and upgrades to minimize errors.
  • Implement self-healing mechanisms for automatic recovery from database failures or performance degradation.
  • Integrate database automation tools with CI/CD pipelines for continuous delivery and deployment of database changes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5-9 years of experience designing, building, and administering databases on the AWS cloud platform.
  • Strong expertise in Infra as Code (CloudFormation/AWS CDK) and automation in Python.
  • In-depth knowledge of AWS database services such as Amazon RDS, EC2, S3, Amazon Aurora, and Amazon Redshift.
  • Strong understanding of database design principles, data modeling, and normalization.
  • Experience with database migration to AWS cloud platform.
  • Strong understanding of database security principles and best practices.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
