Job Description

As a Livelihood Program Manager, you will oversee the delivery of our comprehensive program designed to empower youth in underserved communities.

The program aims to equip young people with life skills education, Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN), and transferable employability skills. Our goal is to prepare them for sustainable careers and foster financial independence.

Key responsibilities include managing resources, staff, and local partners to ensure the full offer of our program is available to youth in the district.

Specifically, you will lead a team delivering the Livelihood program at the district level, achieve targets at each stage of intervention, and support frontline staff to complete comprehensive needs assessments with youth.

You will also formulate personal development plans for each youth, provide career counseling, and empower them to make positive choices about potential careers.

  • Program Management: Lead a team delivering the Livelihood program, manage resources, and ensure effective implementation.
  • Target Achievement: Achieve targets at each stage of intervention, including mobilization, needs assessment, skills training delivery, and placement in work or education.
  • Youth Support: Support frontline staff to complete comprehensive needs assessments with youth, identify their strengths & limitations, training and life skills needs, and overall targets for the program.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must possess:

  • Strong MIS Knowledge: Proficient in using management information systems to track program data and performance indicators.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders, including youth, staff, and local partners.
  • Leadership Abilities: Proven leadership skills to manage a team and drive program results.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and maintain accurate records.
  • Empathy and Cultural Competence: Sensitivity to cultural differences and an ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
