Hedge Fund Analyst Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive professional to join our team as a Hedge Fund Analyst. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate reporting and operational efficiency for our hedge fund portfolios.

Key Responsibilities:
  • NAV Calculations: Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly NAV calculations for hedge fund portfolios.
  • P&L Reconciliation: Perform P&L reconciliation between fund administrator reports, internal records, and prime broker statements.
  • Cash Reconciliation: Carry out cash reconciliation across custodians, banks, and internal systems.
  • Discrepancy Investigation: Investigate and resolve discrepancies in positions, pricing, fees, and expenses.
  • Month-End and Year-End Closing: Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and accruals.
  • Performance Reporting: Assist in performance reporting and investor statements.
  • Trade Settlement and Reporting: Coordinate with fund administrators, prime brokers, and custodians to ensure accurate trade settlement and reporting.
  • Portfolio Data Validation: Collaborate with portfolio managers and risk teams to validate portfolio data and performance metrics.
  • Process Improvement: Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of financial instruments and proficiency in MS Excel. Familiarity with fund accounting software is an asset.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. Relevant work experience in the investment industry is highly valued.
