Reliability Engineer Job Overview

As a Vice President of Site Reliability Engineering, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to improve the reliability and efficiency of our services. This role requires strong analytical skills, hands-on experience with SRE practices, and a deep understanding of production support processes.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop actionable plans for operational efficiency and service quality improvements. This includes establishing Service Level Objectives (SLOs), defining monitoring strategies, and implementing reliability improvements.

Additionally, you will contribute to architectural reviews for reliability and drive continuous improvement from incidents. You will also ensure that our Test and Deployment processes are reliable and automated.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement SRE strategy to promote 'Automate-first' culture in operating services through reduced toil.
  • Design methodologies and strategies for identifying toil-heavy processes and automating their elimination.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop actionable plans for operational efficiency and service quality improvements.
  • Establish Service Level Objectives (SLOs) for critical services and work with stakeholders to implement them.
  • Define monitoring strategies and implement necessary capabilities.
  • Design and implement reliability improvements, conduct capacity planning, and perform chaos engineering exercises.
  • Lead architectural reviews for reliability and drive continuous improvement from incidents.
  • Contribute to Test and Deployment processes, ensuring they are reliable and automated.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Hands-on experience as an SRE Practitioner with 5+ years of working experience in SRE roles.
  • Practical experience defining and implementing SLOs and operating to Error Budgets.
  • Implemented and operated monitoring and observability technologies for enterprise-grade production systems.
  • Experience with corporate software development lifecycle methodology, with some experience implementing GitOps a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and understanding of critical Production Support processes.
  • 2+ years of experience with one or more public/private cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
