Job Description:

As a Systems Engineer at Noccarc, you will be part of creating high-performance medical devices used in ICUs. Your role will involve translating your understanding of human physiology into functional, life-saving medical devices. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop the core algorithms and control logic for these devices using signal processing, control system design, and machine learning techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gain in-depth knowledge of human physiology, particularly cardiovascular and respiratory systems, and how they relate to medical device functionality.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the working principles of medical devices and their components, including sensors, actuators, and pneumatic systems.
  • Model human physiological systems and medical device interactions to develop core algorithms and control logic for medical devices.
  • Prioritize the systems to ensure they meet safety, regulatory, and performance standards for medical devices.
  • Collaborate with firmware, software, and electronics teams to implement solutions that translate into high-performing, clinically effective devices.
  • Participate in testing and validation to refine system behavior and ensure clinical efficacy.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Physics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in systems engineering, system modelling, control systems engineering, or a related field, with knowledge of System Identification methods and State Space-based Modeling techniques like MPC, LQR, etc.
  • Strong foundation in physics and mathematics, with the ability to understand and model complex systems using fundamental principles.
  • Hands-on experience in programming for control systems, including proficiency in tools like MATLAB, Simulink, Python, or C/C++.
  • Expertise in control systems engineering, system modelling, and signal processing. Familiarity with machine learning techniques is a plus.
  • Experience working with complex embedded systems involving multiple controllers, processors, sensors, and actuators.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, ensuring systems meet safety, regulatory, and performance standards.
  • Proficiency in technical writing, able to clearly document designs, processes, and results.
