Job Overview



As a Medical Device Systems Specialist at Noccarc, you'll be at the core of creating high-performance medical devices used in ICUs.



Your job will be to understand how the human body works and turn that understanding into functional, life-saving medical devices.



You'll work with multi-disciplinary teams to develop the 'brains' of these devices using system modeling, control system design, signal processing, and machine learning techniques.



Your work will directly impact patient care by ensuring these devices are safe, reliable, and effective in real-world clinical settings.



Main Responsibilities



Develop an in-depth understanding of human physiology, particularly cardiovascular and respiratory systems, and how they relate to medical device functionality.



Model human physiological systems and medical device interactions to develop core algorithms and control logic for medical devices using signal processing, control systems engineering, and machine learning techniques.



Ensure the systems meet safety, regulatory, and performance standards for medical devices.



Work closely with firmware, software, and electronics teams to implement solutions that translate into high-performing, clinically effective devices.



Participate in testing and validation to refine system behavior and ensure clinical efficacy.



Requirements



Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Physics, or a related field.



3+ years of experience in systems engineering, system modeling, control systems engineering, or a related field, with knowledge of System Identification methods and State Space-based Modeling techniques like MPC, LQR, etc.



Strong foundation in physics and mathematics, with the ability to understand and model complex systems using fundamental principles.



Hands-on experience in programming for control systems, including proficiency in tools like MATLAB, Simulink, Python, or C/C++.



Expertise in control systems engineering, system modeling, and signal processing.



Familiarity with machine learning techniques is a plus.



Experience working with complex embedded systems involving multiple controllers, processors, sensors, and actuators.



Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, ensuring systems meet safety, regulatory, and performance standards.



Proficiency in technical writing, able to clearly document designs, processes, and results.
