Job Description:

Larsen & Toubro Limited is committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment for all its employees, contractors, and visitors. As a Safety Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections: Inspect the quality of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety gadgets on a regular basis.
  • Develop emergency response plans: Prepare emergency response plans and conduct periodic mock drills to ensure readiness.
  • Identify training needs: Identify the training needs of staff, visitors, subcontractors, and workmen, and schedule training sessions accordingly.
  • Daily EHS inspection/Peptalk: Conduct daily EHS inspections and Peptalks to maintain a positive safety culture.
  • Weekly or daily inspections: Conduct inspections on a weekly or daily basis to identify potential hazards and take corrective action.
  • Evaluate legal requirements: Evaluate the compliance of legal requirements and ensure that the organization is meeting its obligations.
  • Risk assessment and procedures: Prepare EHS risk assessments and facilitate the development of safe operating procedures.
  • Incident analysis and reporting: Analyze incident trends, identify safety issues, and initiate corrective and preventive actions.
  • EHS performance review: Review and appraise EHS performance and facilitate improvement initiatives.
  • Statistics and reporting: Prepare EHS statistics and report them to the Cluster Manager on a regular basis.
  • Campaigns and promotions: Organize campaigns, competitions, and other special emphasis programs to promote EHS culture.
  • Fire-fighting equipment inspection: Inspect fire-fighting equipment and conduct fire drills to ensure readiness.
  • Incident reporting: Report incidents as per the communication protocol set by HQ.
  • Safety audits and inspections: Maintain track of safety audits and inspections, and ensure that corrective actions are taken promptly.
  • Accountability: Be accountable for fixing safety hazards and ensuring that they do not recur.
  • Training and development: Identify training needs and conduct training for workmen and staff to enhance their EHS knowledge and skills.
