Our organization is seeking a highly skilled and experienced data expert to take on the role of Senior Data Engineer. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with physical and relational data modeling, as well as overall industry experience.

About the Role:

  • The successful candidate will collaborate with our data analyst and data platform teams to analyze and evaluate existing data systems, ensuring they are up-to-date and optimized for efficient data management.
  • We are looking for an individual who can work closely with our Business and Analytics team to understand business needs and translate them into long-term solution data models that meet those requirements.
  • The Senior Data Engineer will partner with our data ingestion teams from different business areas to understand data availability and format, and create conceptual data models and data flows that drive business insights.
  • This role requires joint accountability with Platform and Development teams for the performance of reporting solutions produced.
  • The successful candidate will develop best practices for data coding, naming conventions, default values, semantics, data dictionary, etc., to ensure consistency within the system.
  • They will review modifications of existing systems for cross-compatibility.
  • This position involves implementing data strategies and developing physical data models that drive business value.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience with physical and relational data modeling, with overall 10+ years of industry experience.
  • Expert knowledge of metadata management and related tools.
  • Knowledge of mathematical foundations and statistical analysis.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills.
