Job Overview

Procurement Specialist Position

We are seeking an experienced procurement specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in direct procurement, vendor relations, and inventory management.

The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating and processing purchase requisitions, maintaining effective collaboration with suppliers, and managing supplier part lead times, safety stock, expedites, and supplier change notifications.

  • Evaluate and process purchase requisitions for custom and off-the-shelf materials, ensuring timely delivery to manufacturing sites.
  • Maintain effective collaboration with suppliers to prevent disruptions and escalate issues as needed.
  • Manage supplier part lead times, safety stock, expedites, and supplier change notifications, collaborating with internal teams and suppliers.
  • Facilitate virtual meetings and communicate actions to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with sourcing teams to optimize pricing tiers, minimum order quantities, and supplier capacity plans using SAP material settings.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, quality, and warehousing on return-to-vendor actions, including repair and refurbishment.
  • Work with PLM and Reliance/ETQ quality management systems to access specifications, diagrams, and work instructions.
  • Ensure accuracy of confirmed delivery dates on the SAP system and negotiate with suppliers as necessary.
Requirements
  • Global supplier and stakeholder management experience.
  • SAP ECC MM module and MRP knowledge.
  • Ariba SCC knowledge preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of direct procurement, vendor relations, and inventory management.
  • Familiarity with GMPs, product specifications, and incoming inspection procedures.
  • Effective verbal and written communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and detail-oriented skills.
  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills.
  • Microsoft Excel and Outlook proficiency.
