About the Job

Vandana Global seeks a seasoned Sustainability Manager to lead the company's environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategy and initiatives. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for driving sustainability efforts, ensuring compliance with regulations, and communicating the company's progress to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Development
    • Develop and implement Vandana Global's ESG strategy, identifying key environmental, social, and governance issues and developing comprehensive plans to address them.
    • Ensure the organization is prepared for various ESG-related certifications and maintain the sustainability of developed systems and mechanisms through audits.
    • Identify and evaluate ESG risks and opportunities, integrating them into business planning and decision-making processes.
  • Environment
    • Oversee environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives, including waste management, energy efficiency, and emissions reduction.
    • Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to implement environmental improvement projects.
    • Conduct environmental impact assessments and audits, ensuring adherence to local, state, and Central environmental regulations.
  • Social
    • Drive community engagement and social investment programs that enhance the company's reputation and support local communities.
  • ESG
    • Develop and maintain ESG policies, procedures, and reporting frameworks.
    • Ensure transparent and accurate ESG reporting, including sustainability reports and disclosures to stakeholders.
    • Prepare ESG reports, ensuring compliance with relevant frameworks like GRI, CDSB, and standards like SASB, EFRAG.
    • Stay current with ESG regulations, standards, and industry best practices to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including employees, investors, regulators, and community members, to communicate the company's ESG performance and initiatives.
    • Represent the company in industry groups, sustainability forums, and at public events.
    • Perform and deliver additional tasks as and when requested by senior and top management.

Requirements and Skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, sustainability, engineering, business administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.

Desired Experience

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in ESG, sustainability, or related roles, preferably within the Steel or manufacturing sector.
  • Strong knowledge of ESG frameworks, standards, and reporting methodologies (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD).

  • Strong understanding of the legal and regulatory compliances and documentation required for the continued production and other operations of the organization.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of maintaining all relevant governmental, legal, and regulatory documentation and licenses for a steel manufacturing plant.
  • Proficient with MS Office and other essential office productivity tools.
