Job Title: ESG Manager

At Vandana Global, we are seeking an experienced ESG Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for implementing our ESG framework and maintaining healthy working relationships with stakeholders.

About the Job

The ESG Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the significance of ESG in our organization's strategy and commitment to sustainability and responsible business practices. You will work towards getting required certifications and implementing developed systems and mechanisms through audits.

Key ResponsibilitiesDevelopment
  • Develop and implement our ESG strategy, including identifying key environmental, social, and governance issues, and developing a comprehensive plan to address them.
  • Get our organization ready for various ESG-related certifications and ensure the sustainability of developed systems and mechanisms through audits.
  • Identify and evaluate ESG risks and opportunities, and integrate these into business planning and decision-making processes.
Environment
  • Oversee environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives, including waste management, energy efficiency, and emissions reduction.
  • Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to implement environmental improvement projects.
  • Conduct environmental impact assessments and audits, and ensure adherence to local, state, and Central environmental regulations.
Social
  • Drive community engagement and social investment programs that enhance our company's reputation and support local communities.
ESG
  • Develop and maintain ESG policies, procedures, and reporting frameworks.
  • Ensure transparent and accurate ESG reporting, including sustainability reports and disclosures to stakeholders.
  • Prepare ESG reports and ensure compliance with relevant frameworks like GRI, CDSB, etc., and standards like SASB, EFRAG, etc.
  • Stay current with ESG regulations, standards, and industry best practices to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
Stakeholder Management
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including employees, investors, regulators, and community members, to communicate our ESG performance and initiatives.
  • Represent our company in industry groups, sustainability forums, and at public events.
  • Perform and deliver additional tasks as and when requested by senior and top management.
Requirements and Skills

We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's degree in environmental science, sustainability, engineering, business administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7-10 years of experience in ESG, sustainability, or related roles, preferably within the steel or manufacturing sector.

The candidate should have strong knowledge of ESG frameworks, standards, and reporting methodologies (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD). They should also possess leadership and strategic thinking skills, strong ethical standards and integrity, an innovative and proactive mindset, and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

Certification in ESG or sustainability (e.g., LEED, ISO 14001) is a plus. The candidate should have a strong understanding of the legal and regulatory compliances and documentation required for the continued production and other operations of the organization.

They should also have a strong knowledge and experience of maintaining all relevant governmental, legal, and regulatory documentation and licenses for a steel manufacturing plant. Proficiency in MS Office and other essential office productivity tools is required.
